Got my strut spacers designed. Seeings we’re slow at work right now, I decided to machine out a prototype so I can make adjustments if needed before making the real thing:
I need to shift the holes slightly, but otherwise they fit the mount perfectly.
Got the holes shifted so they match up, so I got out the chunk of stock I ordered:
1.25" 6061 extruded stock.
Then I set it up and let it rip before I left yesterday. Came in this morning and cleaned them up:
Now I have my strut spacers made. Now it just needs to get warmer so I can add these in, add a leaf + blocks in the rear, and have a lifted minivan!

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking that would look like.

I miss making stuff like this for my car. I should go break something.

Damn it stop giving me bad ideas!!!!!
Correct answer, no. It’s for allowing me to get stuck even further down the trail than I already was.

I wish I had access to a lathe and/or mill...not that I need it for anything right now , I just wish I had access.

Well if not the Viper V10, I bet the 3.5L 250HP V6 found in the LH cars just might drop in nicely...

Eh, I’d do a modern 3.8L top end swap first. Far easier and makes 3.5L HP with 50ft-lbs more torque.
Next candidate after that is the 4.0L/6-speed from a newer van.

“Next candidate after that is the 4.0L/6-speed from a newer van.”
... with twin turbos... RIGHT?

We have a handful off CNC mills, a few manual mills, a CNC lathe, a manual lathe, a wire, and a couple edm sinkers.
I can handle pretty much anything for the mills and manual lathe work. Been doing some design work for my own parts as well.
I love having the access and knowledge to do stuff like this on my own.

Na, it’s plenty quick as it stands now. Another 50+hp/50+ft-lbs would be more than enough.
Although I have also been thinking about slapping one of these on top of my 3.8:
Even happens to have the right displacement markings.....

You’re not near western NC, are you? I should be ready with both
before too much longer.

Nice. Jealous of your skills and access to expensive tools.
Except I wanted lowering springs when I had my Caravan. I’ll be getting my parents 2011 Sienna in a few years and am now wondering if there are any lowering kits for that.

Ah, you’re a machinist? That makes so much sense.

No, damn it. Maybe it’s time for a move though...western NC doesn’t sound like a bad place.

If you’re not careful I’m gonna show up at your door with a pile of prints and parts.

I’m open to doing more custom work. ;)
